This success has been a long way coming for us. As one of the first providers of graphical Agent Desktops in 2003, we soon realized that our ‘one-size fits all’ approach, requiring a different setup for each Travel Management Company (TMC), paired with the agents love for the green screen has set us up for failure. We completely shifted gears and started developing a fully customizable framework solution based on reusable components, reducing the actual time spent on coding. Using Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and offering services such as searching, shopping and booking rather than GUI (graphical user interface) elements allows us to provide a custom solution for the price of standard software. The graphical user interface which is based on the same platform whether it powers an Online Booking Tool (OBT), Agent Desktop or a mobile application is a thin layer adjustable to the individual requirements of our customers. Thanks to its integrated flexible rules engine, any market need and feature can easily be integrated – in most cases by the client himself, substantially expediting the time-to-market.
From a technology perspective, NDC content featuring airlines such as Lufthansa, can be made available in the Online Booking Tool (OBT), the Agent Desktop and on XML level (subject to 3rd party distribution agreements).
